(The Turn of the Screw, The Tobacco Factory Theatre)

Founded in 1993, Opera Project has established an enviable reputation as one of the UK’s leading opera production companies whose work includes performances and residencies across a range of theatres and at a number of the country’s major opera and music festivals. Presenting exceptional singers from the UK and abroad, productions are noted for the quality of the casting, the calibre of the orchestra, the stylish and dynamic stagings and the brilliant and often specially conceived English translations.

Opera Project played a leading role in establishing two of the UK’s leading opera festivals: If Opera and West Green House Opera. The company has collaborated over many years with Longborough Festival Opera and made annual visits to Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol from 2003 – 2019 where co-productions with the theatre were staged ‘in-the-round’ to sell-out audiences and critical acclaim. Following the COVID-19 pandemic the company is planning a return to Tobacco Factory Theatres in October 2024 with Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.
